About Kanoya

National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya is a national university in Kanoya, Kagoshima, Japan, founded in 1981. Four alumni participated in the swimming and volleyball events in the Beijing Olympics, including Athens Olympics swimming gold medalist Ai Shibata.

In the Faculty of Physical Education, we have established the “Sports Comprehensive Course” and the “Martial Arts Course” to acquire scientific basic knowledge and applied skills related to physical education and health promotion.

In the general sports course, students acquire specialized skills related to competitive sports, lifelong sports, and health promotion through the exchange of theory and practice, and develop leaders who can respond to the development of the international community.
